External Support Helped Drive the Cattle Contracts Higher Through Tuesday
With the help of some external support from the equity markets, the cattle
contracts were able to close higher Tuesday afternoon.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
The livestock complex ended the day mixed, with the cattle contracts
rallying while the hog contracts fell further. Still no cash cattle trade has
developed. May corn is up 2 3/4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal is down
$2.20. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 317.74 points and the NASDAQ is
up 455.34 points.
